Grand Theft Auto V Got Millions to the Epic Game Store

Epic Game Store has made a name for itself by offering free titles and getting exclusive games that have angered pc gamers across the board. Now, the free games and exclusive content working or not is still up in the air, but it is hard to deny that Grand Theft Auto V getting over 7 million people to sign up to Epic Game Store as anything other than a massive success.

Diamond Casino Heist

Civilization 6 was another big hitter, but it pales in comparison to the massive influx of people Grand Theft Auto V brought. Really, this isn’t surprising at all. Grand Theft Auto V is one of the best-selling games of all time and remains unfathomably popular. So despite releasing in 2013, the Epic Game Store was able to nab over 7 million new users from it.

The Epic Game Store has been quite the controversy since it launched. PC gamers weren’t used to having to use a certain store to get the games they want. For console gamers, this sounds like nothing since you just have to download a new app instead of buying an entirely new console if there is an exclusive you want to play.

I won’t lie; I’m firmly in the camp that just doesn’t care about the Epic Game Store. It isn’t destroying PC gaming, and having to download a new app to get a free game or an exclusive I’m interested in just doesn’t bother me. I also use GOG, which allows my entire PC library to run through that regardless of where I get games.

The frustration of a new store is overblown. I don’t prefer Epic Game Store as it is pretty lackluster as a storefront missing many features of Steam, but it’s fine for an occasional download.
